Church Office

We are currently without an admin assistant, so the office is only staffed on Tuesdays (see below).

Note: When the church phone is unattended, a message may be left on the answering machine which is checked regularly.

Minister

Our minister, Rev. Yvonne Ghavalas, was ordained in the Methodist Church of Southern Africa where her focus was on spiritual formation across the ages within a large multicultural community. 
 
Since immigrating to Australia, she has worked predominantly within rural and regional spaces, encouraging congregations to be creative in their journey through life and faith together. 
 
As a former social worker and teacher, she is passionate about transformative learning and was appointed to the Margaret Jurd College Board last year.

Yvonne is also able to conduct baby naming and blessing ceremonies, house blessings, and funerals for the spiritual but not religious, using Celtic-inspired language and rites.

By car

Jesmond Park Uniting Church and church office is located at 15 Robert Street, Jesmond. The hall faces Coles Street, which overlooks Jesmond Park. Access to the car park is via Robert Street. There is on-site parking for 11 cars, including 1 accessible car space. Some off site parking may be available.

By bus

The closest bus stop is on Newcastle Road, within walking distance to the church.
