Community Activities
When we get together, have fun together, learn about each other and give our time to help where there is a need, barriers come down, bonds are formed and strengthened and our lives are richer – God’s love shared.

Cheap Chewsday
The first Tuesday evenings of most months sees the hall brimming with international students from the University of Newcastle. Students from different cultures take turns to cook and present the food they love. It is so popular the students have to book seats! It is the ‘United Nations’ in action
Stitch & Chat Group
The Stitch and Chat group meets each Friday morning from 10am to 12pm in the Community Room. The group of women share a common interest in sewing, knitting, embroidery and/or other handcrafts. While sewing and knitting they discuss things that are happening in their lives, the community and the world.
Men’s Dinner
Men’s dinners provide an opportunity for men from the church, and with other friends, to meet together for a meal, drink and chat. They are usually held every 2 months at a restaurant or pub, on varying mid-week days.
Ladies Lunch
Our Ladies’ Lunch Group meets three times a year and ladies of any age are welcome to attend. Transport can be provided and we encourage our ladies to invite friends and acquaintances. We usually have lunch at hotels so that we can include everyone. These meals are reasonably priced. Those
Happy Feet Walking Group
If you are a serendipitous type of person, fond of the unexpected, the unforeseen, the opportune, the unanticipated and like the opportunity for an accidental discovery of something pleasant, the Happy Feet walking group is something you would enjoy being part of. Student HELP
Our neighbourhood has many families from other cultures for whom English is a second or third language. HELP (Homework and English Literacy Program) is an after school homework program held in the church hall on Monday afternoons during school terms. It provides support from skilled volunteer tutors for children from
Christian Meditation
The Christian meditation group practices in accordance with the World Community for Christian meditation. This is an ancient form of prayer which began after the early church was formed. The meditators listen to some quiet music and teaching about the practice, before moving into silence for 20 – 30 minutes.
